What is the E85 conversion?
E85 conversion involves installing a homologated electronic box (99/96/EC standard) between the engine sensors and the ECU. This box adjusts the air-fuel mixture in real time to allow the use of superethanol E85 (85% bioethanol + 15% petrol) in place of SP95 or SP98. The vehicle can continue running on either SP95 or E85 indifferently, with no mechanical modification to the engine or fuel line.

Carbon footprint halved
Bioethanol is made from French agricultural raw materials (beet, wheat, crop residues). Its production chain reduces 'well-to-wheel' CO₂ emissions by around 50% compared to fossil petrol. E85 conversion extends the useful life of existing petrol vehicles while reducing their impact, with no need to replace them with a new car — whose manufacture has its own carbon cost.
Vehicle compatibility
Compatible with almost all post-2000 fuel-injected petrol vehicles. Carburettor vehicles are not compatible. A free compatibility diagnostic is available by appointment: we read the vehicle ECU, check the injection type, and confirm compatibility before any commitment. Over 3,000 stations in France distribute E85 (Total, Carrefour, Leclerc, Intermarché), with near-total coverage of the Bouches-du-Rhône.

Limits of the process
Cold starts may be slightly longer in winter (temperature < 5 °C), an issue corrected by most recent kits we install. The modification must be declared to the insurer (usually without a premium increase) and recorded on the registration card — DREAL homologation is included in our service. The kit does not replace normal engine maintenance: it optimises the mixture, it does not change the underlying mechanics.

The manufacturer warranty may be affected on the 'engine management' side. Our certified kit is designed not to alter components permanently: it sits between sensors and ECU without modifying the original mapping. In practice, dealerships do not refuse servicing, but may contest an engine failure — to be evaluated case by case according to vehicle age.
With 15,000 km per year and consumption of 7 L/100 km, payback is typically 10 to 14 months. The calculator above gives a precise estimate based on your real driving profile.
