  Pads are the key wear part in your braking system: they're typically checked at every service and often replaced somewhere around 30,000 to 40,000 km depending on driving style, terrain and use — only a thickness check can confirm it. A metallic scraping noise, less bite when braking, a longer stopping distance or a dashboard warning light all call for a check without delay.

• Brake discs

  Discs are inspected alongside the pads: warping, deep scoring, signs of overheating and, above all, the minimum thickness specified by the manufacturer. Once past their wear limit they need replacing — usually in pairs on the same axle, and often together with the pads for even, dependable braking.

• Battery

  A battery weakens over time and in cold weather, often beyond four or five years. Sluggish starting or temperamental electronics are signs worth watching. We test the voltage, charge capacity and starting behaviour before drawing any conclusion; a charge warning light can also point to the alternator, which we check too. Where a replacement is needed, the old battery goes to a certified recycling channel.

• Oil & filters

  An engine-oil change using the oil specified by the manufacturer, plus replacement of the relevant filters: oil, air, cabin (pollen) and fuel, depending on the vehicle. It's the single operation that protects the engine most lastingly and helps curb excess fuel use. Used oil and filters are collected and processed through certified recycling channels.

• Shock absorbers

  Shock absorbers govern handling, comfort and stability under braking by keeping the tyres in contact with the road. Pronounced bouncing over bumps, a nose-diving body, a floaty line through corners or uneven tyre wear all point to fatigue. We inspect them and, when worn, replace them by full axle to preserve balanced behaviour.

  All the everyday jobs: accessory belt and tensioners, spark plugs, bulbs, wiper blades, checking and topping up fluids (brake, coolant, washer), bleeding and minor repairs. Enough to keep a car healthy between major milestones, without replacing anything that doesn't need it. Heavy mechanical work isn't carried out here: we'll point you to the right specialist where appropriate.

   Once the quote is approved, we carry out the replacement or repair using parts matched to your vehicle and the oil specified by the manufacturer. The consumables we remove go to recycling.

   Final check & hand-back

   Final inspection, a road test where needed, then hand-back with a clear invoice and a summary of everything checked. Free courtesy car during the work (subject to availability), with the car most often ready the same day.

What we cover, what we refer on

This service covers routine servicing and light mechanics: brakes (pads and discs), battery, oil and filter changes, shock absorbers, along with the everyday jobs — accessory belt and tensioners, spark plugs, bulbs, wiper blades, fluid levels and minor repairs. It also includes putting right the safety points often inspected ahead of a roadworthiness test, such as brakes, shock absorbers and lighting. Heavy mechanical work, on the other hand — clutch replacement, full timing-belt kit, engine overhaul or swap, gearbox — deliberately falls outside this scope. If your vehicle needs that kind of work, we diagnose it honestly and refer you to the right specialist, rather than taking on a job this framework doesn't cover.
